Gateway To Social Opportunity (GSO) is a fun and unique program for children and young adults with special needs to learn valuable social skills by promoting social and community involvement.  

 

Our goal is to enable participants to form friendships among peers  with special needs while incorporating appropriate social skills in group and community based activities. 

 

 

 Our Mission is maintained and supported by certified special education teachers and others well-experienced in working with individuals with special needs. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Gateway to Social Opportunity was founded by two parents of special needs children in 1988 to create a fun and interactive social learning environment within the community.

 

Now years later, the program is flourishing and has expanded to meet the needs of people ages 5 to 30 in the northern New Jersey area.

 

We are a fully insured, non-profit organization committed to fostering the social skills in children and teens by:

 

*     Creating a supportive social environment within which the individual can

       process social communication and successfully interact with others

 

*     Creating opportunities to practice skills within the group

 

*     Making social interactions supportive, satisfying and enjoyable
